Registered Nurse Psychiatric

Job Summary:


RN BHU delivers high-quality psychiatric nursing care during nightshift 12-hour shifts on a per diem basis. The role focuses on ensuring patient safety, monitoring clinical status, and coordinating care in a behavioral health environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide therapeutic nursing care for patients with psychiatric and behavioral health needs.
• Monitor vital signs, behavioral changes, and clinical indicators and report findings promptly.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols.
• Perform nursing assessments, develop/update nursing documentation, and maintain accurate records.
• Respond to emergent patient situations using appropriate de-escalation and safety procedures.
• Maintain compliance with infection control practices and required safety/clinical standards.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Registered Nurse license with verifiable standing.
• Maintain current BLS certification.
• Maintain current ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications as applicable to the role.
• Provide proof of MMR and Varicella vaccination or acceptable attestation/declination.
• Demonstrate strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting.
• Exhibit sound judgment, professionalism, and effective communication with interdisciplinary teams.
