Technical / Team Lead (Metal Production)

Join us in fueling our electric future. As one of the first members of the Voya team, you will have a key role in the development of the company. The successful candidate will take a leading role in setting the scientific direction of the company. Responsibilities Lead a team of scientists and engineers to develop inert anode and cathode materials and electrolytes for electrochemical production of Voya’s fuel-grade metal. Design and demonstrate high-efficiency cell architectures and process conditions. Work with Voya’s advanced prototyping team and/or contract R&D firms to scale and demonstrate these new materials and processes in pilot and production-intent systems. Establish raw material specification and supply chain to enable low-cost production of metal at scale. Qualifications Track record of developing materials for high-temperature metallurgy or electrochemical processes or scaling such processes to pilot or production-scale. Experience leading high-performance teams of scientists or engineers to develop novel materials or processes. Track record of successfully managing vendors for material supply or development. Experience working with cross-functional teams, preferably for large-scale process development. Ability to operate in a fast-paced, start-up environment. Results-oriented with a strong sense of urgency. Location Hayward, CA. Full-time on-site.
