Executive Branch, an exclusive private members' club in Georgetown, is seeking an exceptional Director of Events to lead the planning and execution of the Club's private events, member programming, and signature experiences.
This is a unique opportunity for an accomplished events professional who understands luxury hospitality, operates with exceptional discretion, and knows how to create memorable experiences for a highly discerning membership. The ideal candidate combines impeccable taste and attention to detail with the operational discipline required to execute flawlessly behind the scenes.
Role Overview
The Director of Events will oversee the full lifecycle of events at the Club—from initial concept and member inquiry through planning, vendor coordination, execution, and post-event follow-up.
Events range from intimate private dinners and executive gatherings to member programming, high-profile celebrations, performances, and large-scale signature events. The Director will work closely with Club leadership, Food & Beverage, culinary, security, membership, and outside vendors to ensure every experience reflects the standards of Executive Branch.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of all Club events, including member-hosted private events, Club programming, dinners, receptions, celebrations, performances, and special experiences.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for members hosting events at the Club, providing polished, highly responsive service from initial inquiry through completion.
- Develop creative event concepts and translate member and leadership vision into thoughtful, elevated experiences.
- Manage all event logistics, including timelines, floor plans, menus, rentals, entertainment, décor, florals, production, transportation, staffing, and vendor coordination.
- Create detailed event orders, run-of-show documents, production schedules, and internal communications to ensure seamless execution across departments.
- Work closely with the culinary and Food & Beverage teams on menu development, service style, beverage programming, and staffing requirements.
- Source, negotiate with, and manage best-in-class outside vendors while maintaining strong relationships and controlling costs.
- Oversee event budgets, proposals, contracts, deposits, invoicing, and final reconciliation.
- Maintain an exceptional network of trusted vendors across entertainment, production, décor, florals, rentals, transportation, and other event needs.
- Anticipate challenges before they arise and remain calm, decisive, and solutions-oriented when plans change.
- Be physically present and highly engaged during events, ensuring every detail—from arrival through departure—is executed to the Club's standards.
- Maintain absolute discretion regarding members, guests, conversations, and activities within the Club.
Ideal Candidate
- Significant experience leading events within luxury hospitality, private clubs, five-star hotels, luxury event production, or UHNW/private environments.
- Demonstrated experience producing both intimate, highly detailed events and larger, complex productions.
- Exceptional taste level and a sophisticated understanding of luxury service and hospitality.
- Highly organized with extraordinary attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple events and priorities simultaneously.
- Warm, polished, confident, and comfortable interacting directly with high-profile and highly discerning individuals.
- Strong vendor relationships and excellent negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Calm under pressure and able to make sound decisions quickly.
- A true hospitality mentality—no task is beneath the role when it contributes to an exceptional member experience.
- Unquestionable professionalism, judgment, confidentiality, and discretion.
Schedule & Quality of Life
While this is a senior events position requiring flexibility surrounding Club programming and special events, Executive Branch offers a schedule that is unusually attractive within the luxury hospitality and events industry.
The Club is generally closed on weekends, allowing for a more predictable Monday–Friday schedule than is typical in hospitality. The Club also observes most major holidays and closes for approximately one month each summer.
Occasional weekend, holiday, or after-hours availability may be required for exceptional Club events or special programming, but these are the exception rather than the standard weekly schedule.
For an experienced events professional who loves the energy and standards of luxury hospitality but is seeking greater long-term balance, this role offers a rare combination of high-level events, extraordinary clientele, creative opportunity, and quality of life.
What We Offer
- $150,000–$175,000 annual base salary
- Annual performance-based bonus
- Comprehensive benefits package
- Complimentary gym membership
- A rare Monday–Friday-oriented schedule within luxury hospitality
- Most major holidays off
- Approximately one month of Club closure each summer
- Opportunity to produce distinctive, high-profile events and experiences
- A collaborative, entrepreneurial environment with significant creative ownership
- The opportunity to play a meaningful role in shaping the events and programming of one of Washington's most distinctive private clubs
This position is based onsite in Georgetown, Washington, D.C.
