Job Summary \n
\nOversee and direct medical care for residents at developmental centers, ensuring delivery of high-quality services consistent with standards for Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID). Serve as a primary care physician while providing leadership in the development and implementation of medical policies and procedures.\n
\n
Key Responsibilities \n
\n•    Medical Oversight: \n
\no    Plan, coordinate, and direct medical services for residents \n
\no    Establish policies and procedures consistent with regulatory standards \n
\no    Provide direct patient care, including physicals, evaluations, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and documentation \n
\n•    Collaboration & Consultation: \n
\no    Work with interdisciplinary teams (psychology, psychiatry, nursing, case managers, direct care staff, and families/guardians) to address health and safety concerns \n
\no    Collaborate with Certified Nurse Practitioners and other medical staff \n
\no    Consult with facility committees (admission/discharge, infection control, medication review, human rights, and emergency preparedness) \n
\no    Provide medical consultation to programs and assist in planning statewide health services \n
\n•    Program Administration: \n
\no    Supervise lower-level medical and support personnel \n
\no    Formulate and implement medical policies on behalf of the agency \n
\no    Provide leadership in public health initiatives, including maternal and child health programs and infectious disease surveillance \n
\no    Assist in grant development, resource allocation, and comprehensive planning of statewide services \n
\n•    Specialized Medical Responsibilities: \n
\no    Handle complex medical, psychiatric, or laboratory cases \n
\no    Serve as medical supervisor during disease outbreaks or other facility-wide health concerns \n
\no    Provide training and guidance for staff on complex medical issues \n
\n
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities \n
\n•    Knowledge of medicine, psychiatry, public health, and healthcare administration \n
\n•    Skills in patient care, policy implementation, and interdisciplinary collaboration \n
\n•    Ability to supervise staff, manage complex cases, and handle unpredictable situations \n
\nMinimum Qualifications\n
\n•    Doctoral Degree in Medicine \n
\n•    Valid Ohio Medical License \n
\n•    CPR Certification at healthcare-professional level \n
\n•    Healthcare-professional level CPR Certification \n
\n•    Ohio Medical License \n
\n
Preferred Skills \n
\n•    Experience in public health, developmental disability care, or administrative leadership \n
