Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Medical Stroke

Contract | Night Shift | Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Medical Stroke unit with an average daily census of 26–28 patients and capacity up to 35 beds
• Manage a patient assignment of 5–6 patients with support from Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
• Care for patients presenting with conditions including COPD, pneumonia, abdominal pain, stroke, and occasional surgical overflow including thyroidectomy
• Provide post-TPA stroke care and support for lower-level stroke patients
• Document and communicate patient status accurately using the facility's electronic health record system

Required Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in West Virginia or a compact state
• Current BLS certification
• Prior experience in a Medical Surgical setting

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with stroke patients, including post-TPA care
• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) certification or working knowledge
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system
• Prior travel nursing experience
