Portuguese VRI, Contractor (US-based only) Seeking Professional Medical Interpreters for VRI/OPI Remote VRI/OPI Interpreter ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT The Linguist Experience Team [LX] is where the mission of Jeenie is actualized. LX is our most innovative and on demand part of the business, matching interpreters with people in need. LX is multifaceted with a team of internal ops overseeing 1000's of interpreters globally. We only work with interpreters who share our goal for delivering an exceptional customer experience and who meet our high standards, including the requirements here. This is an independent contractor position. ABOUT YOU Here’s what we believe our best applicants bring with them into the role: Native proficiency in at least 2 languages Service-oriented, friendly, and professional demeanor A passion for helping others Good internet connectivity A smartphone or laptop with data plan A quiet, private workspace for confidential calls Additional items necessary to be a medical interpreter at Jeenie Medical Interpreting certification (if applicable) 3+ years as a medical interpreter HIPAA certification or training HIPAA policy compliance NCIHC National Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics compliance Individual Business Associate Agreement compliance Healthcare domain knowledge: degrees, work, significant studies NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct compliance (applicable only for American Sign Language) ABOUT Jeenie Jeenie is a virtual interpreting platform that connects users to a video or audio call with live, qualified interpreters for on-demand language assistance.
