Legal Assistant - Litigation

Hinman, Howard & Kattell, LLP is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to join our team. This full-time position (37.5 hours per week) offers a collaborative work environment, competitive compensation, and a comprehensive benefits package.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in supporting attorneys in a busy litigation practice.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Draft, format, and edit legal documents and correspondence, including pleadings, motions, letters, and memoranda from typed, handwritten, and dictated materials
• File pleadings and other documents electronically with federal and state courts
• Maintain and organize litigation files, including indexing pleadings, managing deposition materials, and preparing exhibits
• Track case deadlines and maintain attorney calendars to ensure timely filings and case management
• Schedule meetings, depositions, conferences, and other litigation-related events
• Coordinate attorney travel arrangements when necessary
• Enter and finalize billable time entries
• Respond to client and third-party inquiries under attorney direction
• Provide additional administrative and litigation support as needed

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of litigation legal assistant experience or strong computer skills and a desire to learn
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Experience with electronic court filing systems
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Professional demeanor and commitment to client service
• Flexibility to work occasional overtime as needed

Salary Description


$20 - $25 per hour
