Quality Control Line Inspector

Location: Wharton, NJ
Shift Availability:

• Three Shifts Available
  1st - 7am - 3 pm $21/hour
  2nd - 3pm-11pm $23/hour
  3rd 11pm - 7am $23/hour
  

Key ResponsibilitiesIn-Process Line Inspection

• Perform routine inspections of filling, labeling, and packaging production lines.

• Verify line clearance procedures before production start-up.

• Inspect fill levels, container integrity, labeling accuracy, and product coding.

• Identify and report defects including leaks, mislabels, damaged packaging, or contamination concerns.

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure production activities comply with cGMP requirements, SOPs, and regulatory standards.

• Complete inspection logs, batch records, and deviation documentation accurately.

• Report non-conformances and assist with quality investigations.

• Maintain accurate documentation following GDP (ALCOA+) principles.

Line Clearance & Setup Verification

• Perform line clearance activities during product changeovers.

• Verify correct components including labels, cartons, containers, and packaging materials.

• Confirm proper material reconciliation and documentation.

Sampling & Testing

• Collect in-process samples according to approved sampling procedures.

• Perform visual inspections and basic quality checks.

• Submit samples to the QC laboratory when required.

Batch Record Support

• Review production documentation for accuracy and completeness.

• Identify discrepancies and communicate issues to appropriate departments.

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with Production, Quality Assurance, and Warehouse teams.

• Support internal audits, customer audits, and FDA inspection readiness.

QualificationsEducation

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Associate degree preferred.

Experience

• 1–3 years of experience in cosmetic, pharmaceutical, or OTC manufacturing preferred.

• Experience working in FDA-regulated manufacturing environments is a plus.

Technical Knowledge

• Understanding of cGMP requirements and documentation practices.

• Familiarity with 21 CFR Parts 210 and 211 preferred.

• Knowledge of manufacturing inspection processes.

Required Skills

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to identify defects and quality concerns.

• Effective communication and escalation skills.

• Basic math and inspection abilities.

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods.

• Ability to perform detailed visual inspections.

• Ability to lift and move materials weighing 25–50 lbs.

• Ability to work on a manufacturing production floor while wearing required PPE.

Work Environment

• Manufacturing floor environment with PPE requirements.

• May require flexible scheduling, including shifts, weekends, and overtime.
