About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 AM - 07:30 PM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Current RN License Certifications: ACLS Required, BLS, NIH Certification essential Must-Have: EPIC EMR Experience in a like unit within the last 12 months Description: These positions will provide support for the unit during surge. Traveler will be responsible for self-studying telemetry strips upon acceptance. A basic dysrhythmia test will be given during the first week of assignment. This must be passed in order to work in this float pool. Delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation in coordination with other health team members. Effectively interacts with the patient, significant others, and other health team members while maintaining high standards of professional nursing. Provides high-quality care to various patient populations, including geriatric, medical/surgical, adult, psychiatric, and telemetry. Estimated workweek is 36 hours. Every other weekend rotation and every other holiday rotation is required. Candidate will be required to float to units within scope and may be required to float to other campuses at times. Floating may include any non-critical care inpatient units, including behavioral health and the emergency department if there are boarded patients. If the traveler has critical care experience, they may be floated to the critical care unit or intensive care unit. Traveler will not be part of a regular call rotation, but may occasionally be placed on call during periods of low census. If called in, the traveler is expected to be able to respond and arrive on-site within one hour. Telemetry ratios are currently 1:4 on days and 1:5 on nights. Med/Surg ratios are currently 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights. CPI/MOAB certification is also required.
