Cobol System Analyst
Locals are preferred
Location: Oakbrook, IL
Duration: 6-12 Months
Rate: $55/hr to $57/hr
Qualifications:
- Senior level of systems analyst experience extracting rules from COBOL Batch Program (85) and willing to analyze code to extract information and then convert into requirements to be addressed by targeted application.
- Experience leading developers to purse practical strategy to extract information and then convert into requirements to be addressed by targeted application.
- Experience trouble shooting issues, recommending options, applying/implementing solution to address issue.
- Able and willing to change program to address issue in timely manner and/or provide guidance to a developer to apply the change.
- Utilize Top down and bottom analysis strategy to only pursue the desirable information to convert into functional requirements to be addressed by targeted application.
- Significant Cobol application Development Experience
- Good knowledge of Batch/JCL
- Microsoft SQL development experience
- Application interaction with VSAM/QSAM files
- Knowledge of SOA, Web Services SOAP, Restful XML/JSON
- Experience working with Application Business Stakeholders and business analysts to acquire quick understanding of the essential process and application functions, rules, reporting that require assessment, as whether to discard or address in the targeted application, and work with the targeted application designers to address the requirements.
- Experience developing systems with Agile methodology
- Experience with CICS/Cobol 85 IBM VSAM DB2
