Role Overview: The occupational therapist assesses, plans, and implements rehabilitative programs to restore or improve patients' daily functioning, mobility, cognition, strength, coordination, and range of motion. Services are delivered across the continuum, emphasizing quality, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities Treatment Planning: Implements therapy plans, selects appropriate activities, revises goals with patient/family input, and provides education, discharge instructions, and referrals. Patient Assessment: Collaborates with physicians to establish and evaluate treatment programs, set goals, and develop discharge plans, documenting evaluations and care plans per departmental guidelines. Professional and Customer Service Skills: Maintains ethical standards, respects diversity, ensures confidentiality, communicates effectively, participates in meetings, and fosters a positive environment. Professional Development: Engages in ongoing education, completes required competencies, and trains new staff. Qualifications Masters or Bachelors in Occupational Therapy. Licensure as an Occupational Therapist. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent. Effective communication, customer service focus, teamwork, and basic computer skills.
