Job Title The Hughes Center is a highly-structured psychiatric residential treatment facility for youth ages 10 to 22 with neurodevelopmental disorders. The Hughes Center also provides private, community-based educational services. We provide both individualized and holistic care for adolescents and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a nurturing, family-friendly environment. We utilize a multidisciplinary team approach to provide comprehensive evaluations and evidence-based treatment (and educational) interventions with the intent to increase each youth's level of functional independence. Our team also works diligently to address or manage medical conditions and challenging behaviors that are often associated with individuals who are diagnosed with neurodevelopmental disorders. We challenge our residents to adapt to and apply learned skills within new environments and situations, and to maintain functional use of these skills when they return to their homes or other community-based settings. The Admissions Coordinator handles intake by screening residents to ensure that admission criterion is met. The incumbent facilitates the admission process by assisting the client, family and referral sources as well as providing information regarding treatment, insurance and admission procedures. Key responsibilities: Conduct facility tours Answering and responding to incoming program inquiries/referrals via telephone, fax and/or internet in a timely manner. Providing information to potential clients, families and referral sources regarding treatment programs, insurance information and admission procedures. Obtaining initial client clinical and funding source information during admission. Communicate the patient's information to the Clinical administrative team. Conducting the admission process with the potential client and families including explaining the admission forms and securing the appropriate signatures; processing all signed forms as well as copying and distributing to appropriate departments in a timely manner. Providing follow-up to referral sources and families regarding status of patient. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred. Experience: Requires a minimum of three years of experience in a related field. A working knowledge of behavioral health admissions. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
