Companion CaregiverSenior Helpers of New Haven Coast is hiring compassionate and dependable Caregivers and Personal Care Assistants to provide trusted, non-medical support in clients’ homes. You will also provide families with reassurance that their loved one is receiving dependable and compassionate support.Benefits of Joining Our Team• Competitive pay ranging from $18 to $21 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, schedule, and client assignment.• Flexible scheduling based on your availability• Part-time and full-time opportunities• Day, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts may be available• Paid training and ongoing caregiver education• Client assignments selected with your skills, availability, and location in mind• Support from a local, nurse-owned leadership team• A professional and respectful environment where caregivers are valuedCaregiver ResponsibilitiesServices are based on each client’s individual care plan and may include:Companionship and meaningful social interactionAssistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygieneSupport with walking, mobility, positioning, and transfersMeal planning, preparation, and assistance with eatingMedication remindersLight housekeeping, laundry, and linen changesErrands and authorized transportationSupport for clients living with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementiaObservation and timely reporting of changes in a client’s condition or needsAccurate documentation of services and activitiesMaintaining a safe and comfortable home environmentFollowing the client’s care plan and all company policies and proceduresCaregiver Qualifications• Must be at least 18 years old• Genuine compassion for older adults• Dependable, patient, respectful, and attentive• Effective communication with clients, families, and team members• Ability to follow care plans and complete required documentation• Willingness to complete required training and skills assessments• Reliable transportation to and from assignments• Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance when driving is required• Previous caregiving, home care, assisted living, nursing home, or related experience is preferred but not required for every assignment• CNA, HHA, PCA, or similar training is welcomedPhysical RequirementsCaregivers must be able to perform the essential duties required by their assigned clients, with or without reasonable accommodation.
