Summary This position is a member of the Veterans Service Center front office staff and provides administrative, management, liaison, and coordination support as the Program Support Assistant to the Veterans Service Center Manager and the Assistant Managers of the VA Regional Office, Muskogee, OK. Learn more about this agency Duties Help Serves as primary timekeeper for the Office of the Veterans Service Center Manager. Incumbent is the main source of information for VATAS (Veterans Affairs Time and Attendance System). Advises and briefs management on administrative policy and procedure. Responds to a variety of personal, telephone and written inquires, including those regarding general procedures and policies of the Department, as well as the benefits administration. Maintains employee records; ensures timely completion and submission of placement follow-ups, within-grade certifications, and official time reports. Prepares overtime worksheets; updates and maintains organization and functional charts; maintains confidentiality of sensitive records and information. Performs administrative personnel functions for Veterans Service Center. Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level. The full performance level of this position is grade GS-7. Work Schedule : Regular office hours, Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM. Alternate work schedules may be available. Virtual: This is not a virtual position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: experience performing technical work in an office setting, preparing reports, technical correspondence and keeping track of data. Note: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience you document, to include volunteer experience. Education This job does not have an education qualification requirement.
