RN Flex Pool Nights

The Registered Nurse in the Flex Pool provides skilled nursing care across various medical and surgical units, including Medical, Laulima (Surgical Acute), and Cardiovascular units. The role involves patient assessment, medication administration, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes. This position requires flexibility to float between units, strong clinical skills, and adherence to professional standards in a fast-paced hospital environment. A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience and active Hawaii RN licensure are required. Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care to patients in Medical, Surgical, and Cardiovascular units.
• Perform patient assessments, medication administration, and treatment planning.
• Float between different units as needed, including Medical Unit, Laulima Unit, and Cardiovascular Unit.
• Utilize electronic medical record systems such as Meditech EMR for documentation and patient care coordination.
• Operate and manage equipment including pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes.
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios appropriate to each unit to ensure quality care.
• Adhere to professional nursing attire and hospital policies.
• Participate in unit-specific orientation and training programs.

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Hawaii prior to start of assignment.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience (up to 10 years preferred).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
• Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Procedural Sedation certification.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
• Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification.

• Must have documented proof of immunity; medical or religious exemptions are not accepted.
• Floating between multiple units including Medical, Surgical, and Cardiovascular units is required.
• Adherence to professional nursing attire with clean scrubs.
• Nurse-to-patient ratios vary by unit and shift; may be affected by unexpected leaves.

• 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15.
• Scheduled for 36 hours per week following orientation.
• No guarantee of hours.
• Orientation provided for each unit prior to assignment.
