Senior Accountant

We are a homebuilder and developer based in Temecula seeking a Senior Accountant. This is a full-time, in-office position; hybrid and remote schedules are not available. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in homebuilding or land development, and an interest in potentially moving into a Controller role in 3–5 years.

Responsibilities

-Prepare journal entries, account analyses and reconciliations; assist with financial statements and other reports.

-Review and process property tax bills and payments.

-Enter invoices, issue checks, and track insurance, vendor contracts and lien releases.

-Prepare lender loan draw submissions using AIA forms.

-Assist the Controller and Project Manager with project budgets.

-Record escrow closing statements.

-Monitor and process tenant and borrower payments; prepare payment coupons, billing statements, late notices and rent increase notices.

-Draft promissory notes and agreements that support the financial records.

-Work with the Controller to prepare the company cash flow statement and interim and year-end financial schedules.

Qualifications

-Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university.

-3–5 years of accounting experience.

-Strong account reconciliation skills and at least one year of financial statement reconciliation experience.

-Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

-Experience with Sage 300 is a plus.

-HR administration experience is a plus.
