Position Overview

As a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) at Athletics Therapy Center, you will play a key role in providing exceptional rehabilitative care to residents in our skilled nursing facility. Work Environment

This position is full-time and onsite, allowing you to engage directly with residents and medical staff within our hospital setting. Key Responsibilities

• Implement individualized treatment plans as devised by the supervising Physical Therapist, ensuring that interventions are appropriate and timely.
• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, mobility training, and daily living activities, utilizing adaptive equipment as needed to promote independence.
• Monitor and document patient progress, providing clear and concise reports to interdisciplinary teams during scheduled meetings.
• Educate patients and their families on exercise regimens and safety protocols to enhance self-management and prevent further injury.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory documentation standards and participate actively in care planning sessions focused on patient-centered outcomes.
• Create a motivating environment that encourages patient participation and fosters a positive attitude towards recovery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with senior residents who may be recovering from surgery, managing chronic conditions, or rehabilitating from illnesses. Your empathetic and patient-centered approach will be essential in addressing the psychological and physical challenges faced by this population, ensuring they feel respected and empowered as they navigate their recovery journey.

Qualifications

• An Associate's Degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program is required.
• An active Virginia PTA license or eligibility for licensure is mandatory prior to starting employment.
• Demonstrated strong clinical judgment along with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• A compassionate approach to patient care, particularly toward senior citizens and their families.

Preferred Experience

• At least two years of relevant experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, preferably in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting.

Compensation and Benefits
