Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Bone Marrow Transplant - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available. Opportunity: /n RN - Bone Marrow /n/n Job Details: /n • Work in 40-bed bone marrow transplant unit (20 beds on each floor) /n• Target patient ratio 1:3, stretch ratio 1:4 depending on staffing /n• Must have oncology experience and chemotherapy certification /n• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and ONS chemo certification /n• BMT experience preferred /n• Must be competent to administer chemotherapy /n• Ability to read telemetry and monitor simple titration of drips preferred /n• Oncology and PCU level of care experience required /n• Excellent assessment skills needed /n• Must perform bedside shift reports and safety rounds /n• Required to rotate weekends /n• Travelers float first according to floating policy /n• Dress code: Royal blue scrubs required /n• Use Meditech documentation system /n• Work with bedside monitors, bedside computers, and lift assist devices /n• Participate in manage team up and no pass zone protocols /n• May assist with infrequent bone marrow biopsies /n• Unit has HUC Monday-Friday 7AM-3PM, 2 PCTs on AM shift, 1 PCT on PM shift /n/n Facility: /n This healthcare facility features a specialized bone marrow transplant unit that has received five-time accreditation by FACT. The facility performs both autologous and allogeneic transplants, including related, unrelated, haplo-match and mismatch donors, as well as CAR-T therapies.
