About the Role:

Orange County Ophthalmology is looking for a friendly and detail-oriented Medical Customer Service representative to join our growing team in Garden Grove, CA. Responsibilities:

Greet and assist patients in person, by phone, and via electronic communication in a professional and compassionate manner

Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using medical scheduling software

Verify patient insurance eligibility and process authorizations for ophthalmology services

Collect and accurately enter patient demographic and medical information into the EHR system

Handle patient inquiries, concerns, and complaints with empathy and efficiency

Process co-pays, billing inquiries, and coordinate with the billing department as needed

Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure HIPAA compliance at all times

Requirements:

1+ years of customer service experience in a medical or healthcare setting preferred

Familiarity with ophthalmology, optometry, or specialty medical office procedures is a plus

Knowledge of medical insurance verification, authorizations, and billing processes

Proficiency with EHR/EMR systems and general computer skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-first attitude

Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a busy clinic environment

Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required
