Manager Respiratory Care

Job Summary As the Respiratory Care Manager, you will lead Respiratory Care technical staff, provide instruction and evaluation, assist the Director in department management, and deliver direct patient care as needed. Responsibilities Supervise, instruct, and evaluate Respiratory Care Practitioners on a daily basis. Assist the Director in overall department management and ensure compliance with The Joint Commission standards and CLIA regulations for the Blood Gas Laboratory. Develop and implement the annual competency program to maintain clinical expertise among staff. Manage monthly and daily scheduling to provide appropriate staffing levels while maintaining productivity and budgeting targets. Audit staff charges, charting, and orders for regulatory compliance. Participate in hiring, onboarding, and staff discipline in accordance with policies and procedures. Job Requirements Required Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Care or 5 years of experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in an acute care setting; Associate’s degree may be considered if the bachelor’s is obtained within 2 years of hire. Active Respiratory Care Practitioner license (CA). Basic Life Support - CPR from the American Heart Association. Advanced Cardiac Life Support from the American Heart Association. Pediatric Advanced Life Support from the American Heart Association. Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification. Preferred Previous supervisory experience.
