Manual Machinist / Bridgeport Operator

Location: Metro Detroit, MI

Type: Full-Time, Onsite

Pay Range: $20 – $25/hour+ (higher for strong experience)

Shift: 1st Shift (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday–Friday)

About the Opportunity

Our client, a well-established machining and manufacturing company, is seeking a Manual Machinist / Bridgeport Operator to join their team. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience operating manual machines, particularly Bridgeport mills, and working with small precision components.

You’ll be working on straightforward parts such as keyways, keys, cover plates, and similar components, with a strong focus on quality and consistency. This is a stable first shift opportunity with excellent benefits and a team-oriented shop environment.

What You’ll Do

• Operate manual machines, including Bridgeport mills

• Perform basic machining operations on small parts and components

• Machine keyways, keys, cover plates, and similar components

• Use hand grinders and other shop tools as needed

• Read and follow basic prints or work instructions

• Maintain quality standards and ensure accuracy of finished parts

• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment

• Work collaboratively with team members and supervisor

What You Bring

• Experience operating manual machines, especially Bridgeport mills

• General machining experience in a shop environment

• Familiarity with hand grinders and basic shop tools

• Ability to read basic blueprints or part drawings

• Strong attention to detail and quality

• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Experience Level

• 1–5+ years of manual machining experience preferred

• Open to more experienced candidates at higher pay range
