Data Engineer

Salary: $100,000 - 140,000 per year Requirements:

• Demonstrated data analysis and parsing experience.
• Demonstrated programming language experience (e.g., Python, Java) coupled with significant SQL/database experience.
• Experience with the full data lifecycle, from ingest through display, in a Big Data environment.
• Hands-on experience with Java-related technologies, such as JDK, J2EE, EJB, JDBC, and/or Spring, along with experience with RESTful APIs.
• Experience with data pipelining systems (e.g., Apache Airflow).
• Experience developing and performing ETL tasks in a Linux environment.
• At least 5 years of relevant software development/programming experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities:

• I will design, implement, and optimize large-scale ingest systems in a Big Data environment.
• I will optimize all stages of the data lifecycle, from initial planning to ingest and final display.
• I will design and implement data extraction, cleansing, transformation, loading, and replication/distribution.
• I will develop custom solutions/code to ingest and exploit new and existing data sources.
• I will develop data profiling, deduplication logic, and matching logic for analysis.
• I will organize and maintain Data Layer documentation, ensuring others can understand and utilize it.
• I will work closely with data scientists to craft data pipelines that support the development of modern AI/ML workflows.
• I will collaborate with teammates, service providers, vendors, and users to develop new and more efficient methods.
• I will effectively articulate the risks and constraints associated with software solutions based on the environment.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to use hands to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
- Ability to occasionally move about the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
