Applicant Requirements Minimum of Bachelor's degree in History or Social Studies State Certification as a teacher is preferred. Class Format At Notre Dame High School, each student is known, and the results of student progress are carefully monitored. Notre Dame maintains restrictions on class size and overall teacher-student ratio, to ensure individual attention. Because Notre Dame employs a modified block scheduling model, the school year mirrors academic years at college with classes running by semester rather than by whole year. Teacher Responsibilities

• Implement curricula and activities to meet academic standards.
• Design and implement assessments that measure progress towards academic standards.
• Use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices.
• Participate in collaborative curriculum development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions.
• Provide consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior.
• Be accountable for students' mastery of academic standards.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
• Participate in annual compliance training; and
• Participate in religion department and full faculty meetings and in-service days.
