Key Responsibilities of the Phlebotomist: Follows the facilities policies and procedures and documents the review. Demonstrates ability to draw blood on all age groups. Troubleshoots problems, documents specimen rejection, prepares send-out specimens and performs billing procedures. Explains collection procedures to patients. Assists the CLS in the lab by centrifuging, organizing the specimens, placing specimens on the instruments to initiate a test run, making smears, plating micro, maintaining the instruments, and doing inventory. Qualifications: Must have an active Phlebotomy certificate Experience working in a labatory Compassionate, dependable, and attentive. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
