They assist in providing a pre-surgery program for patients, their siblings, and their parents which includes a tour of the hospital and a discussion on how the family can prepare for the upcoming hospital visit.Position SummaryThe patient care manager (PCM) has overall responsibility for ensuring that services and programs provided through their assigned department/unit is child and family focused, clinically appropriate, operationally efficient, and achieves effective patient outcomes. The PCM will directly manage RN staff and assist in leadership of clinical support staff.License/Certification/Registration:*Active RN on Minnesota Board of Nursing required*Current BLS requiredEducation: *Bachelor's degree in nursing requiredExperience: *3+ years of people leadership experience or advanced degree in nursing leadership in lieu of experience.*Informal leadership experience is preferred (charge RN, clinical educator, preceptor, etc.). Previous OR experience strongly preferred.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: *Fundamental understanding of the business side of assigned department/unit (P&L, finance, budget, etc.).*Availability for on-call and off-hours rotations/situations as decided by department/unit. *Desired characteristics: strategic thinker, collaborative, seeks to understand, embraces continuous improvement, navigates through change, calm demeanor, positive attitude. Annual salaries displayed are based on full-time employment (40 standard hrs per week). Annual salaries for part-time positions will be prorated based on the employee’s scheduled weekly hours in relation to the full-time standard. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits.
