Salary Range: $19.00 per hour NOTE: The hourly rate is a fixed entry rate for this position and applies to all new hires. While our system may display a pay range, this role’s starting rate is non‑negotiable. Future pay increases are determined by performance, growth, and time in role, in accordance with our compensation policy. During the first several weeks, you will work alongside the team to help set up, organize, and prepare the store for opening, which will look different from your long‑term day‑to‑day responsibilities. This hands‑on, team‑first experience helps bring our store to life and sets us up for success once we open our doors to the community and our customers. Overview As a Visual Merchandising Specialist at Wayfair, you'll be the creative force behind our in‑store presentations, translating seasonal strategies and brand standards into inspiring, shoppable spaces. You’ll support floorsets, signage, merchandise flow, and visual operations that elevate the guest experience and drive business results. Whether you’re adjusting displays based on sales trends or troubleshooting a layout mid‑shift, you bring flexibility, precision, and a collaborative spirit to everything you do. Responsibilities Execute Visual Standards: Own visual execution across the store, including seasonal floorsets, marketing signage, lighting displays, and occasional basic installations like wallpapering or electrical updates—always aligned with Wayfair’s brand standards. Collaborate Across Departments: Partner with leaders and team members to ensure visual priorities are aligned, well‑executed, and adapted to sell‑through or sales trends as needed. Maintain Presentation Excellence: Conduct daily and weekly walk‑throughs using the Visual Merchandising Checklist to assess and improve store presentation. Demonstrate Reliability: Show up on time and ready to go to ensure guests receive a seamless experience from open to close. Proactive communication is key when challenges arise. Adapt with Agility: Move with urgency when priorities shift. Stay calm, focused, and ready to execute. Drive Sales Through Visual Impact: Use product knowledge, judgment, and trend insights to make display decisions that enhance the guest experience and support sales. Innovate and Share Ideas: Suggest ways to improve display flow or introduce new styling ideas so customers can envision possibilities. Embrace Feedback: Take direction from store leaders and visual managers, translating feedback into polished, brand‑right execution. Engage Customers: Interact with guests when needed to support a friendly, helpful, and visually inspiring shopping experience. Thrive in a Fast‑Paced Environment: Work efficiently with changing priorities, new promotions, and evolving product assortments while maintaining strong attention to detail. Operate as “One Team”: Support Wayfair’s overall store goals by cross‑training across key store functions, including sales and back‑of‑house operations. Flex where needed to support customers, teammates, store needs, and peak business periods. Job Requirements Visual Merchandising Experience: 1–3 years of in‑store visual merchandising experience required. Background in home furnishings or interior design is a plus. Retail Sales Insight: 1–3 years of experience in retail or customer‑facing sales roles, preferably in home goods, décor, or furnishings. Planogram Knowledge: Experience reading and executing store layouts or planograms preferred. Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work a retail schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Organizational Strength: Multitasking pro with top‑notch time management, accuracy, and ability to prioritize on the fly. Technical Confidence: Comfortable using visual merchandising software, devices, and other store tools to support planning and execution. Physical and Environmental Requirements Physical Activity: Frequent standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms; occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, and crawling. Mobility & Movement: Frequent stooping, kneeling, and crouching throughout the day. Lifting Ability: Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs independently on a regular basis. Vision Requirements: Includes close, distance, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Temperature Flexibility: Comfortable in environments with varying temperature conditions. Noise Tolerance: Occasional exposure to moderate noise levels and physical activity. Safety Awareness: Minimal exposure to workplace or environmental hazards—must adhere to all safety protocols.
