No Funding Source Grant Funded Functions and Responsibilities Job Summary Under the supervision of the Associate Dean of the West Essex Campus or designee, the Assistant to the Associate Dean of the West Essex Campus is responsible for providing managerial support for the overall administration of the branch campus. Supervisory Role Duties & Responsibilities To develop and ensure the proper implementation of procedures for the branch campus. To work cooperatively with the Associate Dean and staff in an effort to improve scheduling, recruitment, advisement, registration, and the overall delivery of educational services offered at the branch campus. To provide period reports, enrollment information, recruitment numbers, and final enrollment figures. To be familiar with the student data and demographics to serve the residents of the western portion of Essex County. Assist with student orientations, Open Houses, and other events that promote the College and the educational services offered at the branch campus. To visit local businesses, high schools, townships and other entities in the western part of Essex County to promote the College and the educational offerings. To assist with preparing communications, brochures, or flyers to promote the offerings at the branch campus. To assist students with academic issues to promote retention and graduation rates. To assist with creating a communications plan to promote the institution and the branch campus in a consistent basis including the promotions posted on campus via the TV screens and other electronic signage. To interact with high school personnel, including counselors as well as students and parents. To work on special projects such as fundraisers, grants, staff training, development of potential new offerings, student relations through mentoring, and hiring as well as mentoring of part -time staff. Foster strong community engagement and positive public relations to advance the College’s mission, reputation, and goals.” Available for some weekend and evening events as necessary. Prepare routine, special and ancillary reports as required. Perform other related duties as required. Bend, twist, climb, push, pull, and lift. Additional Requirements Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree. Strong communication, organizational and managerial skills. Demonstrated experience in communications and community relations. One or more years of communications, community relations, event coordination experience. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Education Requirements Education Requirements Master’s Degree Licenses and Certifications (including e.g., CPR, first aid, driver’s license, etc.) Education Requirements Bachelor’s Degree Licenses and Certifications (including e.g., CPR, first aid, driver’s license, etc.) Master’s degree in a related area. Progressively responsible experience in working with student services, preferably in higher education at the community college level. Working knowledge of computer software applications, preferably Microsoft Office suite of applications. Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and college rules, regulations and policies governing student affairs programs and services. Demonstrated knowledge of computerized record maintenance and management, preferably the Banner System.
