Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, and cognitive status for labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum patients
• Implement individualized care plans in a knowledgeable and consistent manner, adhering to established procedures, policies, and protocols
• Delegate, coordinate, supervise, and evaluate patient care activities performed by other nursing and non-nursing caregivers
• Accurately document patient care using electronic medical records and/or paper processes in accordance with regulatory requirements
• Identify patient and family learning needs and provide appropriate patient education as defined by policy and care plans
• May function in a Charge Nurse capacity, including patient assignment delegation, coordinating admissions, discharges, and transfers, and serving as a unit lead

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Current Washington State RN licensure
• BLS certification at the Healthcare Provider level (AHA or equivalent) required within 30 days of hire
• AAP Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Advanced certification required prior to end of orientation and renewed every 2 years
• ACLS (AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required within 6 months of hire and renewed every 2 years
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring) required within 3 months of completing L&D training and renewed every 2 years

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum one year of RN experience in a specialty nursing department, preferably Labor and Delivery or a related maternal-newborn unit
• STABLE course completion within 6 months of completing orientation (optional but preferred)
• RN-C certification in a relevant specialty
