Instructional Assistant, Benhaven Academy

Overview Benhaven Academy located in Wallingford is seeking a Full-time Instructional Assistant to join our dynamic team. Benhaven Academy is a small, private school for students who struggle with traditional learning approaches. The Academy offers individualized school programs focused on academic, communication, social and vocational instruction for students with autism spectrum disorder, pervasive developmental disabilities and other related difficulties. This is a 35-hour per week, year-round position. A great candidate must be flexible, demonstrate a positive & professional attitude and work cooperatively with various disciplines within a school setting. Instructional Assistants are vital to Benhaven's mission as they provide care, support, education, and guidance to our students. Responsibilities Monday-Friday. Full-time, non-exempt. 35 hours per week. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree (required) Excellent critical thinking, problem solving Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills required Must be willing to work as part of a team If you have limited experience, please still consider applying.
