Occupational Therapist Position

We're hiring a licensed Occupational Therapist for a full-time role in Alpena, MI working across multiple settings. Your skills will support patients on their journey to improved function and independence.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or higher from an accredited program.
• Active Michigan state Occupational Therapist license required prior to start.
• NBCOT certification (NB Certification in Occupational Therapy) required.
• OTR credential required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) preferred and must be obtained within one month of hire or transfer.
• More than 1 year of experience preferred; new graduates will be considered.
• Outpatient experience preferred; candidate must be able to float to acute care as needed.
• Ability to demonstrate effective verbal and written English communication.
• Ability to work independently, demonstrate problem solving, organization, and time management.
• Successful completion of affiliate-specific orientation and new hire competency.
• Compliance with mandatory OSHA and exposure control training and ability to use PPE correctly.
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
• AOTA membership preferred.

Position Details

• Shift: Days. Typical schedule MondayFriday, roughly 9:00 AM5:30 PM.
• Weekend rotation: approximately one weekend per month.
• Role functions at an Occupational Therapist I level, delegating to OTAs and aides as appropriate.
• Primary duties: evaluate function, develop and update individualized treatment plans, provide interventions, document for billing and regulatory compliance, educate patients/caregivers, and supervise support staff and students.
• Must maintain competency with electronic systems, including Microsoft Windows.
• Physical demand level: Medium. Occasional lifting 2150 lbs, frequent 20 lbs, constant up to 10 lbs. Frequent standing/walking and postural changes required.
