Sr. Cyber Security Architect

Salary: $108,750 - 180,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree, or equivalent work experience, in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology Management, or a related field.
• We look for 5+ years of architecture experience in financial services or similarly regulated industries.
• We prefer experience in cybersecurity and a demonstrated background in a shift-left security model working with development and business teams.
• We need deep expertise in encryption technologies, including PKI architecture and governance, HSM deployment and administration, certificate lifecycle automation, key management systems, and TLS, mTLS, IPSec, and database encryption.
• We expect experience designing secure architectures in cloud environments, primarily AWS.
• We require proven experience performing threat modeling and architecture risk assessments.
• We need working knowledge of FFIEC IT Examination Handbook, GLBA Safeguards Rule, NYDFS 23 NYCRR 500, PCI-DSS, NIST CSF, NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-57, and ISO/IEC 27001 and 27002.
• We value strong risk-based decision-making, the ability to translate technical risk into business language, disciplined architectural documentation, cryptographic rigor, operational resilience, and cross-functional collaboration.
• We prefer an established work history or equivalent experience through work, training, military service, or education.
• We prefer experience with Microsoft Office products.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship at start of employment.

• We design, govern, and continuously improve secure architecture across enterprise platforms, applications, and infrastructure in a regulated financial environment.
• We conduct threat modeling, perform security design reviews, and lead cybersecurity architecture risk assessments.
• We define and maintain enterprise security architecture aligned with business strategy, policies, and reference architectures for cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments.
• We embed security controls early in the project lifecycle and partner with engineering, product, and business teams to turn risk into actionable design requirements.
• We architect and oversee encryption strategies for data at rest, in transit, and in use, including PKI, HSM, and certificate lifecycle processes.
• We establish cryptographic key management standards and oversee key custody models.
• We ensure architectural compliance with regulatory and supervisory expectations.
• We support regulatory examinations, audits, and control validation activities.
