Michigan Medicine Nursing Position

Responsibilities*

• Provide the delivery of culturally sensitive, age-specific team-based care models in delivering nursing care for Primary Care patients including, adult medicine, pediatric, and OB/GYN patient populations at Briarwood Family Medicine, Briarwood Medical Group, Saline Health Center, & Taubman General Medicine Clinic ACUs.
• Perform phone triage, including assessment, screening, clinical advice, nurse visits (in person/ video visit) in-clinic hands on procedures, and other duties assigned.
• Accurate and efficient documentation of nursing care.
• Knowledge and appropriate use of internal and external resources.
• Provide functional supervision to assistive personnel; collaborate with colleagues, other disciplines, and health care/community services to promote continuity of care.

• Ability to manage complex clinical issues utilizing assessment skills, protocols, and evidence-based interventions.
• Willingness to adapt to different populations ie: pediatrics, OB/GYN, adult medicine as patient demands. Orientation and training would be provided for new subspecialties within primary care based on expansion of division.

Required Qualifications*

• Valid Michigan RN license
• Three (3) yrs. (out of the last 7 years) of RN experience in Adult Internal Medicine (to include Adult Inpatient, or Emergency Services, or Ambulatory Care Medicine Adult).
• And one of the following: One (1) year of OB/Gyn RN experience in Ambulatory Care, Labor and Delivery -OR- One (1) year of Pediatric RN experience.

Desired Qualifications*

• BSN
• Certification in Ambulatory Nursing
• Ambulatory Phone Triage experience
• Experience working as a RN, providing care to OB patients in the ambulatory care setting.
• Experience working as a RN, providing care to pediatric patients in the ambulatory care setting.

Salary & Nursing Framework Level:This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.

Modes of Work

Work Schedule

• Hours/Week: 24 Hours
• Shift/Hours/Days: Day Shift; Mon-Fri, (variable hours).
• Hours may be variable (nontraditional including weekends/holidays) based on clinic/patient/volume needs due to patient and volume demands.
• Location: Briarwood Family Medicine, Briarwood Medical Group, Saline Health Center, & Taubman General Medicine Clinic with the potential to work in other locations with the expansion of the division.

Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
