Position Summary

The Lead Older Toddler Teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities, maintaining a safe and engaging classroom environment, and supporting children as they develop independence, communication skills, and social-emotional growth.

The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, patient, flexible, and able to lead a classroom while building strong relationships with children, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and positive classroom environment.

Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and learning activities aligned with developmental milestones.

Foster children's social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development.

Maintain daily classroom schedules and routines.

Conduct circle time, small group activities, sensory experiences, and learning centers.

Complete daily observations, assessments, and classroom documentation.

Communicate professionally with parents regarding their child's progress and daily experiences.

Ensure children are supervised at all times and maintain proper classroom ratios.

Keep the classroom clean, organized, and sanitized according to licensing requirements.

Work collaboratively with administration and fellow teachers.

Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.

Be flexible and willing to assist in other classrooms when needed to support center operations.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.

CDA, TCC, or degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.

Minimum of 1 year of experience in a licensed childcare center preferred.

Strong understanding of toddler development and positive classroom management techniques.

CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain.

Must pass all required background checks.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Reliable, punctual, professional, and flexible.
