Essential Job Duties:

• The Registered Nurse-CVOR performs initial assessment appropriate to the patient's clinical presentation/diagnosis, care setting, age, development level, and cultural and religious orientation.
• Identifies and prioritizes the need for further assessment based on the patient's clinical presentation/diagnosis, care setting, desire for care and responses to any previous care.
• Initiates discharge planning for each patient upon admission as appropriate.
• Performs interventions identified for each nursing diagnosis on the Interdisciplinary Plan of Care.
• Demonstrates the ability to assist the physician with procedures in the operating room, including cardio-thoracic surgery and coronary artery bypass surgery.
• Able to set-up for cases and maintain sterility in the operating room per AORN guidelines.

Qualifications:

• One (1) year operating room experience in an acute care facility and/or surgery center
• Minimum two (2) years' experience circulating for cardio-thoracic/coronary artery bypass surgery
• Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program
• Registered Nurse with current California RN license
• Current BLS, ACLS certification from American Heart Association
• Current PALS (AHA) preferred
• CNOR preferred
