Medical Laboratory Scientist Seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist that under general supervision, performs routine, complex or specialized laboratory testing which will aid in the diagnosis and evaluation of the treatment of diseases while maintaining the highest standards of medical technology. He/She must maintain the highest standards of any and all accrediting agencies. Perform related quality control and clerical work as required. Quality Effectively uses laboratory equipment. Performs and reports testing on patient specimens and OC specimens rapidly and without delay. Demonstrates competence in performing testing procedures. Perform other duties as necessary for efficient operation of the department. Demonstrates Customer Service and behaviors appropriately. Demonstrates knowledge of the occurrence reporting system. Uses system to report potential patient safety issues. Follows established guidelines for reporting a significant medical error or unanticipated outcome in the patient’s care which results in patient harm. Uses Performance Improvement Plan to improve patient safety. Service Serves as an example of professional practice and promotes pride for the organization, the community, and the health care industry. Demonstrates caring and empathy in all interactions and advocates for patient- and family-centered approach in all decisions and actions. Demonstrates excellent communication skills, including active listening. Ensures patients, physicians, and colleagues have a clear understanding of all communications, and escalates care concerns appropriately. Maintains a professional appearance and demonstrates behaviors consistent with established policies/procedures. People Shares new knowledge with peers and mentors those with less experience.
