Weatherization Program Operations Assistant The Weatherization Program Operations Assistant shall assist the Weatherization Program Operation Coordinator with all activities associated with weatherization and conservation improvement programs. • High School Diploma or equivalent Education may be waived with significant job related experience
• Less than 1 year
• BCA Background Study

• Excellent oral and/or written communications skills. • Ability to manage time that results in both a satisfactory quantity and quality of work.
• Support the Mission of the Agency through daily work and while representing the Agency in public. • Have general knowledge of programs and activities of the Agency. • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member. • Must be able to handle diverse work problems on a daily basis. • Must be able to organize a work schedule, set priorities and work effectively to meet deadlines without supervision. • Must be able to adjust to changes necessitated by last minute assignments and deadlines requests that may prove stressful. • Ability to effectively work across differences, especially socio-economic and cultural differences. • Attend trainings, classes and meetings as necessary to improve job skills and maintain an acceptable level of job performance. • Serve as a mentor for new staff.
• Have knowledge and apply Agency policies and procedures, including safety, technology, data practices and other applicable policy, procedure and program regulations. • Understand numbers and mathematical concepts. • Knowledge and understanding of federal, state, and local guidelines, codes, regulations, for implementation and reporting requirements.

• Determine client eligibility and maintaining corresponding records. • Working to prepare and track all work order bids and proceeds to contractors and vendors. • Maintain logs of weatherization crew activity, vehicle utilization, and vehicle maintenance. • Prepare bids; order materials, tools, and equipment; and maintain records for materials needed for the weatherization programs. • Assist in the coordination of energy and conservation programs and projects for low-income clients. • Prepare invoices for utility Conservation Improvement Programs.
• Develop a thorough working knowledge of all Federal and State regulations and procedures as they relate to the weatherization programs. • Use guidelines to select clients, download records, and prepare job books. • Assist in keeping weatherization files current and informing clients of program requirements. • Assist with physical inventory. • Prepare monthly operational and programmatic reports regarding the weatherization programs.
• Keep the Administration Assistant/Coordinator informed of all potential programmatic problems or concerns relative to programs or operations. • Answer consumer questions regarding designated programs. Has general working knowledge of Agency and community resources for appropriate referrals. • Provide telephone coverage for the program, receiving incoming calls, recording messages, referrals and to screen and route calls and messages to the proper persons/programs.
• Provide clerical and office support for the weatherization office.
• Not responsible for supervision of others
• Minimal responsibly for the safety of others. Probability of injury to self or others in remote.
• Contact is both inside and outside the agency, and may include formal presentations.
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds. • Requires sitting, standing, bending, stooping and reaching.
• Must have reliable transportation. • Must have valid driver's license and current auto insurance coverage in compliance with Minnesota State guidelines on the vehicle used for work related travel. • Travel for completion of job duties, trainings and meetings as required.
• Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relations with customers, co-workers, providers, volunteers and supervisors. • Treat customers, co-workers and public in a respectful and courteous manner at all times. • Continue to develop skills and abilities.
