Head of Payment Operations & Card Services Location: 81 Wyman Street, Waltham, MA 02451, United States Base Pay: $163,000 - $212,000 / Year Job Category: Operations Management Employee Type: Full-Time (Exempt) Position Summary At Cambridge Savings Bank, our purpose is to have a positive impact on our customers, employees, and community's financial well‑being. As Head of Payment & Card Operations, you will lead strategic planning, execution, risk management, and continuous improvement of payment systems and card operations, ensuring reliable, compliant, and scalable processing across ACH, Wires, RTP/FedNow, Zelle, Debit/ATM, and digital platforms. Key Result Areas Payment Operations Leadership – lead day‑to‑day execution of payment processes, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and service excellence. Regulatory & Risk Compliance – maintain compliance with NACHA, Reg E, UCC 4A, OFAC, BSA/AML, and network rules; strengthen risk and control frameworks. Operational Controls & Governance – develop standard operating procedures, internal controls, monitoring, and reporting frameworks. Strategic Cross‑Functional Partnership – partner with Product, Technology, Treasury, Fraud, Compliance, and business units to enable product launches and platform enhancements. Performance & SLA Management – establish and monitor operational KPIs and SLAs, driving continuous improvement in throughput and STR rates. Vendor & Network Oversight – manage relationships with third‑party processors, payment networks, and infrastructure partners to ensure service quality. Operational Modernization Initiatives – champion automation, workflow optimization, and technology enablement. Team Leadership & Development – recruit, develop, mentor, and retain a high‑performing team. Business Continuity & Incident Management – ensure resilience, disaster recovery readiness, and incident response. Executive Reporting & Strategy – report to senior leadership on performance, risk posture, and strategic initiatives. Other duties as required. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred. 10+ years of progressive leadership in payment or bank operations. Deep expertise in ACH, Wire, Card Services, and real‑time payment systems. Proven success in operational excellence, risk and compliance, and cross‑functional partnership. Strong communication and executive presence. Experience with payment vendors, networks, and modernization initiatives.
