Construction Manager I

Freese and Nichols is seeking a Construction Manager to join our Fort Worth, TX team. The Construction Manager will be responsible for administering the construction contract by managing, observing, and reporting on ongoing construction on a variety of transportation, water and/or facilities infrastructure projects to verify compliance with approved plans and specifications. And provide support and day to day guidance to other team members.Major Accountabilities:Observe and report on ongoing construction work including material sampling and testing as well as measuring quantitiesReview contractor’s work for compliance with contract documents and clarify contract documents for the contractorSupport in the development and management of:Change/Field ordersUpdates to construction scheduleSubmittalsRequest for Information (RFI)ClaimsPay requestsConstruction meetingsComplete contractor reference checksCollaborate with design teams to facilitate responses to RFIs and submittals and/or construction issuesCommunicate with contactor about non-conforming workCorrespond with client, contractors, and other employeesRead plan and specifications to be able to ensure construction is in accordance with plans and specificationsCommunicate with owner to understand owner’s needs and clarify owner’s objectives and relay information to Freese and Nichols and contractorQualificationsAssociates degree in related field or equivalent experienceGood written and verbal communication skillsProficient knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)Preferred Qualifications:Bachelors degree in related fieldEITCMITAbout Freese and NicholsAt the heart of our culture is our LEADS values (Learn continuously, Engage as family, Act with integrity, Deliver quality, and Serve always).
