Job Description As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Unit in Norfolk, VA you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Position Type Full Time Pay Rate $20.00 / Hour Job Schedule DayTime Mon: 01:00 PM - 09:00 PM Tue: 01:00 PM - 09:00 PM Wed: 01:00 PM - 08:00 PM Thu: 01:00 PM - 08:00 PM Fri: 01:00 PM - 09:00 PM What You’ll Do Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or patients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location. Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or local responders as needed. Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the facility, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions or potential concerns. Monitor access points and help to control entry and exit activity, verifying authorized access, observing for suspicious behavior, and reporting security-related issues in accordance with site procedures. Support site operations by remaining visible, maintaining awareness of the environment, and providing assistance during medical, fire, and/or other emergency-related situations as directed by site protocol. Minimum Requirements Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience. Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Participate in industry-specific security training programs. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
