Peer Outreach & Engagement Ambassador

Job Summary The Peer Outreach & Engagement Ambassador is a highly visible, peer-facing role within the Career Education Center. This position focuses on connecting with students across campus to promote career education, resources, events, and opportunities through in-person outreach, tabling, and social media engagement. As a Peer Outreach & Engagement Ambassador, you will serve as a friendly ambassador for the Career Education Center by starting conversations, answering questions, and helping make career support feel accessible and relevant. You will collaborate with professional staff to plan outreach strategies, promote programs, and share student feedback that helps shape how we engage the campus community. This role will provide the opportunity to develop the following career readiness competencies: Career Management, Oral & Written Communication, Innovation & Creativity, and Teamwork & Leadership. Core Duties Represent the Career Education Center at outreach tables in high-traffic campus locations Initiate conversations with peers and share information about career resources, events, and deadlines Answer basic questions about services and refer students to staff or online resources when needed Assist with planning outreach strategies and identifying new ways to engage students Support campus events, workshops, and collaborative programs with other departments Social Media & Promotion Create and schedule social media content to promote events, programs, deadlines, and resources Help brainstorm creative ideas for engaging, student-centered content Develop content including photos, videos, or stories during events and outreach activities Monitor engagement and provide feedback on what content resonates with students Creative Design & Marketing Materials Design engaging digital and print marketing materials, including flyers, posters, table displays, and other promotional resources. Create and maintain physical promotional displays, such as chalkboards, signage, and event materials, to increase campus visibility. Capture and edit photos and short-form videos to support marketing campaigns, student storytelling, and event promotion. Collaborate with Career Education Center staff to develop creative concepts that enhance student engagement and awareness. Team Collaboration Work closely with professional staff and other student employees Participate in training and team meetings Share insights from peer interactions to help improve outreach efforts Model professionalism and serve as a welcoming peer ambassador Participate in continued training by pursuing additional learning opportunities. Attend regular team and one-on-one meetings to contribute to an environment of continuous improvement. Engage in ongoing professional development activities to support personal career aspirations and career growth. Keep up-to-date on current job search techniques and career trends through assigned readings, relevant online resources, and trainings Other relevant duties as assigned.
