Respiratory Therapist

Job Summary Join our team in Johnson City, NY, where you will ensure that Respiratory Therapy services are delivered efficiently and accurately to inpatients, outpatients, UHS staff, and community groups. Job Responsibilities Administer respiratory therapy procedures as directed. Perform various therapies including Aerosol, CPT/Flutter/PEP Mask, Incentive Spirometry, M.D.I., Suctioning, and Extubation. Manage Oxygen Tank Safety and perform Oxygen Therapy. Oversee BiPAP-CPAP therapy and alarms. Execute Cough Assist/Vest and High Flow Cannula/Humidifier therapies. Conduct Pulmonary Function Screen and Fit Testing procedures. Perform Pulse Oximetry and both Adult and Pediatric EKG procedures. Provide Adult, Pediatric, and Neonatal BLS life support. Manage Mechanical Ventilation and Ventilator Alarms. Conduct Arterial Puncture and Analysis for the Blood Gas Laboratory. Maintain patient healthcare information system and medication programs. Verify physician’s orders for pulmonary and cardiology procedures. Record and report procedure results appropriately. Assist with departmental in-service programs and other duties as assigned. Skills Required Skills & Experience: Up to three years of experience. Attention to Detail, Collaboration, Communication, Continuous Learning. Judgement, Critical Thinking, Planning, Problem Solving, Quality, Reliability. Safety and Risk Management, Technical Expertise. Preferred Skills & Experience: One year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist. Schedule Notes Nights 3x12 and every other weekend. Participation in external patient transports required.
