Cable Technician

*Cable Technician (Low Voltage - Copper & Fiber)* *Location:* Torrance, CA (Field-based across Southern California)
*Schedule:* Monday - Friday (~6:00 AM - 6:00 PM, may vary)
*Employment Type:* Contract (6 Months)
*Pay Rate:* $25-$32/hr + OT (1.5x)
*Overview* We are hiring experienced *Cable Technicians* to support large-scale low voltage infrastructure projects across Southern California. This is a great opportunity to work on high-impact environments including aerospace and government-related sites, with steady hours and long-term project potential.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Install, pull, terminate, and test *Cat5e/Cat6 and fiber optic cabling*
* *Perform troubleshooting and certification testing*
* *Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and project specifications*
* *Maintain clean and safe job sites*
* *Collaborate with field teams to ensure timely project completion*
* *Submit daily progress reports and documentation*
*Required Qualifications*
* *3-5+ years* of low voltage cabling experience (cable technician, installer, or puller)
* Hands-on expertise with:
* Cat5e/Cat6 installations
* Cable pulling, terminations, punch-downs, and testing

* Experience working with *fiber optics*
* *Ability to read blueprints and follow technical instructions*
* *Strong communication skills and professionalism on job sites*
* *Must have:*
* *Reliable vehicle (able to transport a 6' ladder)*
* Own basic cabling tools

* Ability to:
* Pass background check, drug screening, and fingerprinting
* Lift up to 50 lbs and work in active field environments

*Nice to Have*
* Fiber termination experience (2-3+ years preferred)
* Experience with *Fluke testers*
* *Previous experience working in government or high-security environments*
*Work Environment*
* On-site, field-based role across *Los Angeles, Orange County, Inland Empire, and surrounding areas*
* *Projects include enterprise, aerospace, and government contractor sites*
