Premier Pump & Power is a family-owned manufacturer of industrial pumps and energy solutions. We are looking for a detail-oriented Welder I to cut and join metals and other materials at our facilities. In this role, you will primarily utilize MIG welding techniques to assemble mechanical structures and pump packages with precision. This position is ideal for someone with a steady hand who is looking to grow their fabrication career in a high-quality manufacturing environment.

You will report to the Production Manager.

This is a full-time position located in Vancouver, Washington.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality MIG welding on small parts, crossmembers, and plate steel.
• Read and understand weld prints and technical drawings.
• Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g., cutting material with powered saws to match measurements).
• Align components using calipers, rulers, and clamp pieces to ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to identify and resolve flaws.
• Operate fabrication equipment: Band saw, Drill Press, Pallet Jack, and Hand Truck.
• Maintain a clean and safe workstation in accordance with shop standards and 5S principles.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Strong proficiency in MIG welding (GMAW) is required.
• 2+ years of experience as a welder. Completion of American Welding Society (AWS) Certification may be substituted for one year of experience.
• Can use 110v/220v MIG welder .023".
• Familiarity with TIG or MMA (Stick) is a plus but not required.
• Ability to read and interpret basic technical documents, blueprints, and tape measures.
• Knowledge of relative safety standards and commitment to use PPE (face-shield, gloves etc.).

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This is a physically demanding role in a manufacturing setting. Employees must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and safely move up to 50 pounds. This role requires prolonged periods of standing and walking on concrete shop floors.

Employees are constantly required to use hands for manual dexterity and fine manipulation while welding, and frequently reach with hands and arms. The role occasionally requires kneeling, stooping, or crouching. Close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception are strictly required for high-heat welding and navigating a shop floor with active mobile equipment. To ensure safety, employees must be able to recognize and respond to auditory warnings, such as forklift horns and shop alarms.

While working in the factory, employees will regularly work near moving mechanical parts, high-heat equipment, and active forklifts. Exposure to fumes, sparks, and moderate to loud noise levels is expected. The use of standard Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including welding helmets and safety-toed boots, is strictly required at all times.
