Special Procedures Technologist - PRN - Atrium Health Pineville

Essential Functions Perform specialized radiography and fluoroscopic coverage of interventional and angiographic procedures under the direction of a physician. Explain the procedure to the patient and prepare the patient for the procedure. Obtain medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner, authorized/certified technologist, or registered nurse. Circulate during the procedure and maintain responsibility for patient comfort. Provide supplies necessary for diagnostic and therapeutic invasive procedures. Remove catheters/sheaths and apply direct pressure or clamp as appropriate. Provide necessary report information to the holding area or nursing unit as needed. Record and process hemodynamic reports, contrast media records and charges promptly and accurately. Enter patient data and inventory into WITT program and send films for review. Communicate equipment malfunctions to leadership or department engineer for repairs. Physical Requirements Requires standing and walking while wearing 10 to 15‑pound lead radiation protection aprons. Exposure to radiation, secretions and blood. Confined working area. Normal vision, manual dexterity and good eye‑hand coordination are necessary to operate equipment. Constant concentration required during procedures. Education, Training, & Experience High School Diploma or GED required. Completion of an ANA accredited Radiologic Technologist Program or an accredited Radiology Interventional Program required. BLS required per policy guidelines. RTR required. 1 year in diagnostic and 1 year in Interventional Radiology preferred. Compensation and Benefits Base compensation: $42.00 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
