GHA Autism Supports is seeking applicants for a Residential Manager Trainee.

The Residential Manager Trainee's primary responsibility is to provide managerial supervision and training to direct care staff and oversee operations of residential sites.

The Residential Manager Trainee is a professional position providing coordination of and instruction in habilitative programs which provides specialized daily living training, and assistance with training, as well as training on behavior management techniques. The Residential Manager Trainee is expected to be self-motivated to improve his/her knowledge of autism, observational communication, and teaching skills under the training and supervision of the Residential Manager.

Qualifications: Must be able to stand, sit, walk, run, climb, bend, crouch, stoop, push, pull, twist, reach, lift, hear and see the individuals. Must be physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of performing the essential job duties. Ability to deal with stress and behaviors associated with individuals with autism and developmental disabilities, which requires intense one on one contact and management. The ability to handle the individual's behaviors (including but not limited to: scratching, pinching, kicking, biting, hitting, etc.) that are the result of their disabilities. These behaviors could be sexually offensive and possibly viewed by untrained people as sexually harassing. Regular and predictable attendance.

Requirements:

• High school diploma, preference to college degree
• Valid driver's license
• Three years managerial experience with developmental disabilities (preferred)
• Or experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities
