Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care on a Med Surg/Telemetry unit, including ongoing assessments, care planning, and documentation.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms via telemetry, read EKG strips, and respond to rhythm changes; administer medications and manage cardiac IV drips per protocol.
- Perform wound care, start and manage IV therapies, and ensure proper infection control and patient safety.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, including physicians, to adjust care plans and coordinate treatments; respond quickly to changes in patient condition.
- Float to Med Surg as needed to support unit needs; participate in on-shift coverage for weekends/holidays as required.
- Complete facility orientation, including 8 hours of CEU-related activities as part of onboarding.

Requirements
- Active New York State Registered Nurse license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- NIH Stroke Certification required before start
- Minimum 2 years of current RN experience in Med Surg/Telemetry
- Travel experience preferred
- Ability to float to Med Surg; comfortable reading EKG strips and performing wound care; strong IV skills and experience with cardiac drips
- Education: Graduation from an approved nursing program (RN)
