Registered Nurse – NICU

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Rotating Shifts (Days/Nights) | 3x12 or 4x12 Hours | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity Level 4 NICU environment, including pre- and post-operative care for neonatal patients
• Operate and monitor advanced equipment including oscillators, conventional ventilators, CPAP, nasal cannula specialty gases, and manage PICC lines, Broviacs, UAC/UVC/PAL lines, trachs, ostomies, and G-tubes
• Perform complex line management involving multiple drips and provide cardiac-focused neonatal care
• Float within scope of practice to PICU, CTICU, and Med Surg units as needed, as well as to NICU satellite campuses; mileage reimbursed from home base location
• Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records
• Maintain full schedule flexibility, including availability for day and night shifts as published, weekends, and 2 of 3 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, including Eves)

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent NICU Level 4 experience (or strong Level 3 surgical NICU experience performing surgeries on newborns)
• Active California RN License required (pending license accepted if ETA for posting is available)
• BLS certification required
• Advanced NRP certification required
• Cardiac experience required
• Must have reliable personal transportation
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• PALS certification preferred
• Experience in a children's hospital or dedicated pediatric setting
• Familiarity with Magnet-recognized or teaching facility environments
• First-time travelers with verified Level 4 NICU experience will be considered
