With deep roots in Western Massachusetts and a growing presence in communities throughout the state, we are currently seeking a Director of Nursing Services to join our Quality Assurance team and help advance our mission of empowering people to live healthier, more fulfilling lives.What We Offer:Meaningful Impact – Provide enterprise-wide leadership that shapes safe, consistent, and high-quality nursing and medication management practices across BHNExecutive Leadership Role – Set direction for nursing operations, MAP compliance, medication safety, and clinical quality while supervising MAP Trainers and the MAP Compliance CoordinatorStrategic, Cross-Functional Role – Partner with the Director of Population Health and Organizational Quality, the Director of Clinical Compliance, and program leaders across the organization to align nursing practice with regulatory and quality standardsSupportive Team Culture – Join a team guided by our HEART values: Humanity, Empowerment, Accountability, Respect, and TeamworkComprehensive Benefits – Generous PTO, 403(b), educational assistance, medical, dental, vision, employee assistance programs, and moreCertified Great Place to Work – Work for an organization recognized for creating a positive and engaging employee experienceWhat You Will Do:Provide enterprise leadership, consultation, and guidance on nursing operations, practice standards, medication administration, storage, documentation, and clinical safety expectations across BHN programsServe as a central resource for nurse and non-nurse program leaders on nursing workflows, medication management processes, regulatory expectations, and safe practice standardsOversee enterprise expectations for safe medication administration, storage, disposal, documentation, controlled substance tracking, and MAR review across MAP-registered and non-MAP programsSupport program readiness for licensing visits, DMH/MAP audits, DPH/BSAS reviews, accreditation surveys, and other regulatory or payer reviewsProvide supervision and direction to MAP Trainers and the MAP Compliance Coordinator, overseeing BHN's MAP program infrastructure and standardized compliance monitoring frameworkEnsure routine, risk-based, and unannounced medication management audits are planned, tracked, completed, and followed up in accordance with established schedulesReview MAP compliance data, audit findings, corrective action completion, and repeat findings to support enterprise reporting and quality improvementSupport nursing education, competency development, and training initiatives related to medication administration, medication safety, and nursing practice needsPartner with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers to provide nursing subject matter expertise for role design, candidate screening, and workforce planningCollaborate with the Director of Population Health and Organizational Quality and the Director of Clinical Compliance to align nursing monitoring with quality initiatives, risk management, and incident trend reviewSupport the Incidents, Complaints, and Investigations (ICI) process by providing nursing subject matter expertise, record review, and corrective action inputMaintain appropriate independence and objectivity in monitoring functions while building collaborative relationships with program leaders and staffWho You Are:Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required; Master's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Quality, Compliance, or a related field preferredRegistered Nurse license in Massachusetts requiredMinimum of five years of nursing experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, community-based services, residential services, healthcare, or human services requiredMinimum of five years of supervisory, management, quality, compliance, education, or enterprise consultation experience preferredDemonstrated knowledge of medication administration, storage, documentation, safety, controlled substance procedures, and regulatory expectations requiredKnowledge of MAP requirements, DMH expectations, DPH/BSAS requirements, accreditation standards, and corrective action monitoring strongly preferredStrong organizational, analytical, verbal and written communication, facilitation, consultation, and presentation skills requiredProficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Teams, SharePoint, spreadsheets, reporting tools, and electronic documentation systems requiredValid driver's license and reliable transportation required for travel to BHN program locations as neededWe Hire for HEART!Since 1938, BHN has delivered high-quality, culturally responsive behavioral health care, building deep roots in Western Massachusetts while expanding our impact in communities throughout the state.
