Service Writer

Our client in the Automotive Services Industry is seeking a Service Writer to join their team. As a Service Writer, you will be part of the Customer Service Department supporting the Service Department. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, organizational abilities, and a customer-focused mindset which will align successfully in the organization.

Location: Traverse City, MI

Pay Range: $18/hr

Shift: Rotating weeks, 6:30am-3:30pm one week and 7:30am-4:30pm the next week.

What's the Job?

• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the vehicle repair and maintenance process.
• Accurately document customer concerns, prepare repair orders and estimates, and coordinate service activities.
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding service recommendations, timelines, and costs.
• Work closely with technicians and parts personnel to ensure efficient workflow and timely repairs.
• Review completed repairs with customers and process payments using various methods.

What's Needed?

• Strong knowledge of automotive systems, vehicle maintenance, and repair processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information simply.
• Proficiency with computers and ability to learn industry-specific service management software.
• Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
