Android Engineer III

Responsibilities

• Build customer-facing Android features for the software embedded on Peloton Bikes, Treads, and Rows.
• Iterate on team processes, technology, and communication.
• Translate Product, UX, and UI requirements into code implementations.
• Profile Android UI, memory, and threading performance.
• Evaluate and communicate engineering solutions and trade-offs.
• Manage complex cross-team coordination and work closely with product owners.
• Assist with and grow mid- and junior-level engineers.
• Leverage AI-first coding tools such as Claude Code.

Requirements

• 4+ years of software development experience, including 2+ years of Android development experience.
• Solid experience interacting with REST APIs.
• Strong understanding of Kotlin, Java, MVVM, MVI, and Android threading and processing.
• Ability to accomplish complex engineering tasks independently and collaborate with UX, design, product, and cross-functional teams.
• B.S. in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent years of work experience.
• Preferred experience with automation testing such as Espresso.
• Preferred experience with GitHub projects or open-source contributions.
• Preferred continuous build experience in an Agile environment.
• Preferred experience using gRPC and GraphQL.
